Exploring themes of friendship, fate, vengeance, death, and nature vs. humanity, this high seas drama is as grand as the ocean is wide. With goofy humour, heart as deep as the sea, and rollicking sea shanties led by a live band performing on board, kids and parents alike will be jumping out of their seats to sing and dance with the sailors! Join us at the dock for this mystical world premier.

“The famed tale by Herman Melville gets a new life as a musical. Let’s just say that you don’t want this site-specific piece to be the one that got away.”

— Ilana Lucas, Mooney on Theatre

“the sensation of water lapping against the dock goes a long way towards convincing you you’re out at sea…the ending of the show – like the novel – is highly imaginative and makes a big splash.

Glenn Sumi, Now Toronto

“I hope ‘Moby’ returns for another engagement … I was a kid again completely immersed in a wondrous sea-faring story”

Joe Szekeres, OnStage Blog

“Much of the story-telling was advanced by the lilting, atmospheric music of Moonfruits. Lovely work.”

Lynn Slotkin

“the effect of being at sea frequently, vividly, suffuses the setting. When the breeze rises off the water and the sound of the waves blends with the catchy tunes, MOBY: A Whale of a Tale is transporting”
