Muskoka Chair Murals
A call to artists in Ottawa, Toronto and Hamilton
Art & Water is refreshing our Muskoka Chair Gallery!
Founded in 2021, our inaugural floating art gallery was composed of 12 Muskoka Chair Murals taking centre stage upon our dock in Downtown Toronto.
In 2023, we are expanding. We are looking to hire 6 artists to design murals for our chairs in our Toronto, Ottawa and Hamilton locations. We are looking for two artists per city to design 4 chairs each.
Art & Water is inviting all artists to submit their designs. Each chosen artist will be paid a fee of $1000.00 to create their set of original murals to be displayed at our waterfront locations.
DETAILS
4 Cedar Muskoka Chairs are provided to each artist, as well as the primer and varnish. The artists must prime their own chairs. All other materials must be provided by each individual artist.
Artists are to paint their 4 chairs outdoors at one of our 3 locations (please include which location you are applying for in your application):
OTTAWA - 588 Hog's Back Rd, Ottawa, ON K2C 1N5
TORONTO - 585 Queens Quay W, Toronto, ON M5V 3G3
HAMILTON - 200 Harbour Front Dr, Hamilton, ON L8L 1C8
Chosen artists will be paid a flat rate of $1000.00 for their 4 Muskoka Chair Murals.
Art & Water caters primarily to children and families, so the art cannot be grotesque.
WHEN
Deadline for submissions is June 21st, 2023.
All work to be completed by July 30th, 2023.
